Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) more popularly known as her stage moniker Ari Lennox is an American singer and songwriter from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist affiliated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. The label debuted her first album titled Pho in the month of October 2016, and she was able to get recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It was released in May of 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music online in the year 2012, when she released her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. She continued to upload her songs online throughout 2014 and released her own single Bound. She appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes and in Sweat It Out on July 21 the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew back then and wanted her to work on Rihanna references. In December 2008, it was revealed that Rihanna had been hired by Dreamville Records. Backseat was her contribution for The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. On October 21, 2016, her debut EP was released under the name Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's hit song Change and was an opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. The year 2018 saw Ari Lennox appeared on two tracks with EarthGang and EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas on Icarus. The 16th of July, 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream of her album debut Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video, which was released on the 5th of September. On November 9 she released two additional singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. Then, in November 2013, she released her debut album No One, and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby was then able to make appearances as a guest on Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. The singer released the single as a way to celebrate her debut album titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. The music video premiered on 20 February 2019 to go along with the track. Within the first week, it had over 3,000,000 views. In support of the track, she toured together with 6LACK in December of 2018 for their From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
